DualSenseX Drivers

If you want DualSenseX to perform correctly on your Windows 10/11 PC so that you can play games with a PS5 or DS4 controller without any issues, you need to install a few important drivers before setting it up. Without these drivers, DualSenseX may not work properly. It may fail to open or may not emulate the controller correctly.

DSX/DS5 DualSense Drivers for Windows

Some drivers are required for basic functionality, while others are optional, but with them you can use more features of the DS5 controller. In this section, we’ll list every driver and briefly explain its purpose.

Virtual Gamepad Emulation Bus – ViGEmBus (Required)

This is the main driver that converts your physical controller into a virtual controller through emulation. If you have installed it correctly, only then can you switch between Xbox and DualShock 4 emulation for different games. If this driver is missing or installed incorrectly, then the DualSenseX app cannot emulate your PS5 or DualShock controller as a virtual controller that your game recognizes.

ViGEmBus Driver

HidHide (Optional but Recommended)

This driver hides the physical controller from Windows. The game only detects the virtual controller created by DualSenseX (DSX). This driver is needed if you want to avoid the double input issue, where the game starts recognizing both the real and the virtual controller and takes double input. So, this driver is recommended for installation to avoid double input issues.

HidHide Driver

Windows Libraries & Frameworks (Required)

  • Microsoft .NET: You need the latest .NET Framework; otherwise, the app will not work.
  • Visual C++ 2015–2019 Redistributable: In most cases, the x64 version is used, but if your system is older, then use the x86 version.
  • Windows Version: Windows 10 or Windows 11, because DualSenseX is compatible with these Windows versions.

DualSenseX (Required)

After installing all the required software, restart your PC. Then, download and open DualSenseX.
